Are you up for the Marathon-A-Month challenge?

Be inspired, be active and build a great habit!

It takes time to form a habit that is why London MPPs Chris Bentley, Deb Matthews, and Khalil Ramal, would like to challenge you to run, skip, bike, walk, skate, swim etc to complete what would amount to a Marathon (42.2 km) 26.2 miles in about a month, which is less than a mile a day.  Making this pledge willmake physical activity part of your daily life for at least a month, and hopefully turn into a great habit.

Please join Chris, Deb and Khalil for a group walk and kick-off of the Marathon-A-Month Challenge:

Agriplex_Centre_View_Small.jpg

November 19, 2009, London, ON

London Legion is proud to announce the rollout of Phase II of the Agriplex Track & Field and Multi-sport complex at the Agriplex, Western Fairgrounds.  Phase II includes an expansion of our 200m oval and a major partnership with the Ontario Volleyball Association.  Four full sized volleyball courts have been completed.  A curtain to separate the volleyball from the track will be installed next week.

When the project is complete, with the help of Federal, Provincial, municipal and corporate grants, the Agriplex will be one of the largest T&F and Multi-Sport complexes in North America.  For T&F enthusiasts, it will contain 20 100m sprint lanes, a 200m oval and capability to train 300m and 400m events.  The complex will be able to accomodate up to 6 volleyball courts and a variety of configurations for basketball.

London Legion greatly appreciates the leadership and dedication of Ivey Business School professor David Simpson on this project.  We also greatly appreciate the support of our major partner, the Western Fair Association, and CEO Hugh Mitchell.

Athletes and families are invited to open houses and registration days on Saturday November  28 from 11 - 1 PM and on Monday November 30 and Wednesday Dec. 2  from 4 PM to 6 PM.
