Club introduces Motion Analysis & Smartphone Content

Major training benefits for coaches and athletes

December 1, 2008, London, ON

London Legion T&F continues our tradition of technology innovation and leadership with tools, technology and services that benefit coaches and athletes.  This month, London Legion introduces Motion Analysis and capability to download race videos and motion analysis onto smartphones like the Apple IPhone/ITouch and Blackberry Storm.

The video at right shows a sample of this technology that will be introduced with increasing frequency on http://www.londonlegiontrack.ca/.  For example, first year hurdler Alysha Newman can review her practices with her coach in slow motion, while at practice or at home.  Content will be available on our website athlete profiles  or downloadable onto smartphones.  (Double click on video to see full screen version).

Stay tuned for some interesting integration work we are testing with YouTube content.

Jessica_and_Sandra.jpg

 September 1, 2008, London, Ontario

This weekend former London Banting High School Track & Field athlete Jessica Zelinka returned home to London after the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.  Jessica's 5th place performance in the Women's Hepthalon set a Canadian Record and was the best performance ever by a Canadian Woman in this extremely difficult event.  Most of Jessica's performances, in Beijing, were personal bests.

Jessica will be competing in Europe for most of this fall season, but will be returning to London at Christmas.  Jessica will be part of a celebration of a new Hall of Fame for Banting athletes.

Sandy Cooper-Ryder was Jessica's hurdle and sprint coach at Banting for 5 years when Jessica set the most Ontario records ever by an Ontario High School athlete.  It was a great celebration with Jessica, and her sisters Andrea and Deanna were also in attendance.  Andrea and Deanna will also be in the Banting Hall of Fame.  It was a very special event.
