Team invited to Veterans Decoration Day Ceremony
Tatiana Desender honours veterans on behalf of all team athletes

June 14, 2009, Mount Pleasant Cemetary, London ON

Sunday June 14 was   London 's 38th Decoration Day.  The day is  set aside for the observance of those who had died in war & peace. We include comrades who had returned home to civilian life. We honor the achievements of this group who were veterans & came home to contribute in meaningful ways to the peace. They decided a remembrance service would consist of placing a memorial marker on the known graves of all veterans, who are buried in the London cemeteries. These veterans had contributed in many ways to the war effort & to the peace that followed. They richly deserve to be recognized for their contributions. By now,  their individual efforts are part of the history books but their legacy remains. Our freedoms & benefits that we all enjoy as Canadians came from these veterans. Many of our comrades lie in graves known only to family members & thus go unrecognized each year.  (written by Art Stenning, WWII Veteran )

Tatiana Desender honours veterans on behalf of all team athletes

 Decoration_Day_014.jpg
