February 2, 2012 London Ontario London Legion welcomes new coach, Danny Wiley Danny Wiley is a graduate from the University of West Georgia where he ran for the West Georgia Wolves as a distance runner in both the track and field and cross country programs. Danny is currently a distance and track coach at Montcalm Secondary School.

| October 17, 2011 London Ontario Claudio Dias played four years of NCAA soccer at Plattsburgh State University in New York from 2003-2006. In his senior year he was named 1st Team All Conference, 1st Team All Region, and an All American. After University he had a short stint training with Portimonenese Sport Club of Portugal. His soccer coaching experience spans from youth all the way to the university level. Through 2007-2008 Claudio coached at the Toronto Benfica Soccer Academy, and he was an assistant coach for Brampton Boavista Football Club in the Ontario Soccer League. In 2008 he also coached the girls U-14 Plattsburgh Football Club. At the University level he was the assistant coach at Plattsburgh State University during the 2008 season, and the assistant at Frostburg State University, in Maryland, from 2009-2011. During his time at Frostburg, he earned his Masters in Education, specializing in physical education. In 2010 he received my National Coaching License (Soccer) from the NSCAA. Claudio is currently at Althouse in the Bachelor of Education program at Western University.. Claudio is the fifth teacher coach, working in the London Legion High Performance and Development programs, that have graduated to make contributions to coaching in Elementary and High School T&F programs across Ontario.

| October 1, 2011 London Ontario London Legion welcomes 2 time CIS All Canadian athlete Nancy Spreitzer to our coaching staff. Nancy was a University of Waterloo basketball player and a member of the T&F team running sprints, long jump and triple jump. Nancy was the U of Waterloo T&F MVP in her graduating year. Nancy is currently attending Althouse College (UWO) and will be helping with the Elementary Track/SAC programs. Nancy has been recognized by the community of Kitchener-Waterloo for her volunteer work with children, and has been a tireless fundraiser for children's sports equipment and the K-W Food Bank. Nancy was also recognized by the OUA and CIS, winning the Community Service Award in 2011. Her full bio is in our coaches section. Nancy is the fourth teacher coach, working in the London Legion High Performance and Development programs, that have gone on to make contributions to coaching in Elementary and High School T&F programs across Ontario.

| September 29, 2011 London Ontario Collette Tesfaye starts her 7th year of High Performance coaching for the London Legion sprint program on Monday & Wednesday at 4:30 and Friday at Brescia Hill during the month of October. Collette's sprint program will remain outdoors until it is too cold, and it will shift to the Agriplex at the Western Fair, Mon and Wednesday at 6:30 PM. Welcome back Collette. Carolyn Adams soars over 1.70m to win OFSAA Gold

July 20, 2011, Ottawa, Ontario Carolyn Adams was announced today as a member of Team Ontario for the 2011 Canadian Youth Championship. This is Carolyn's first selection to an Ontario Team. Carolyn, the #2 ranked Youth high jumper in Canada, is a two time OFSAA high jump champion. Carolyn's personal best for 2011 is 1.70. Teammate Ali Baker has a 2011 PB of 1.65 and is currently ranked #7 in Canada. Congratulations Carolyn.

| July 16, 2011, Ontaio Minor Track Championship, Guelph, Ontrio Forty three elementary aged athletes from London Legion participated in the 2011 Ontario Minor Track & Field Championship in Guelph, Ontario this weekend. Club athletes earned at record 29 medals and over 49 top 5 finishes. The Ontario MTA Provincial Results are available on this link. Our Tyke Boys 4X400 Relay team smashed a long standing provincial relay record by over 4 seconds. Congratulations to the team shown celebrating in the picture at left. These young men have helped set London Legion's 90th Provincial Record. Congratulations athletes, parents and coaches Bud Willis and Sally Chamberlain.

July 14, 2011 Hershey Pennsylvania London Legion athletes Camryn Steckel (800m) and Charlotte Prouse (1600m) were named today to the Hershey Zone 1 Team. Hershey Zone 1 includes Ontario and nine regional US states including Michigan and Ohio. Camryn and Charlotte had the best times of all athletes in Zone 1. Camryn and Charlotte are the 5th and 6th London Legion elementary athletes chosen to Hershey regional teams for the Hershey North American Championship later in August. Team Leader Bud Willis and partner Sally Chamberlain have produced 2 Hershey North American Champions. Congratulations Coaches and Athletes. | ![]()
